GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS (GTC)

Valid from: January 1, 2026

Welcome to the Cyprus Diving Centre. The following terms and conditions apply to all services provided by Kistler & Zweifel Diving LTD at the Cyprus location.

1. Contract Conclusion & Payment

Contract: A contract is formed upon your definitive booking confirmation.
Deposit for Diving & Activities: For diving courses and activities, a deposit of 50% of the total price is required within 4 days of booking.
Accommodation deposit: A deposit of 100% is required to confirm an accommodation booking.
Payment methods: We accept cash, credit cards, and bank transfers. A deposit is required in advance, with the remaining balance due upon check-out.

2. Cancellation Policy

Diving courses & activities

Up to 7 days in advance: Free of charge (plus a processing fee of 2%, minimum EUR 20.00)
Less than 7 days prior: 50% of the total price.
Note: PADI eLearnings are generally non-refundable, but remain the property of the holder and can be redeemed at any PADI dive center.

Accommodations (e.g. Xenios Apartment)

Cancellations made up to 2 weeks before arrival: 10% cancellation fee
Less than 2 weeks before arrival: 100% cancellation fee

3. Weather conditions & safety

Safety takes priority. In unfavorable conditions, dives may be postponed or the dive site changed.

If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions without an alternative date, you will receive a full refund.
Rain: We do not cancel dives due to rain, unless strong winds, high waves or thunderstorms pose a safety risk.

4. Requirements for diving

Fitness : Participants must truthfully complete PADI forms and present their license.
Minors : Require the written consent of their legal guardian(s).
ReActivate (Refresher) : A ReActivate course is mandatory if:
- For fewer than 20 dives, if the last dive was more than 12 months ago.
- For more than 20 dives, if more than 24 months have passed since the last dive.
- Generally, for any diver whose last dive was more than 5 years ago.
Checks : A check-up dive is mandatory before dives deeper than 20m. This can be a normal fun dive the day before or the day before, which is no deeper than 20 meters.
NITROX : Nitrox is mandatory for two or more deep dives (>25m) per day (e.g. Zenobia).
Prohibition of substances: The consumption of alcohol or drugs before or during activities is strictly prohibited. Any suspected violation will result in immediate exclusion without refund.

5. Rental Equipment & Liability

Obligations : The equipment must be checked upon receipt.
Liability : The tenant is liable for damage or loss at replacement value.
Special fees : €50 for water in the first stage of the regulator or for returning bottles with less than 30 bar.
Valuables : We accept no liability for lost or stolen items.

6. Environmental protection

Protecting the oceans and preserving Cypriot nature are core values of our philosophy. As a partner of organizations like Green Fins and Adopt the Blue, we are committed to strict ecological practices.

Respect for marine life: It is strictly forbidden to touch, feed, or harass marine animals. We always maintain a respectful distance to avoid disturbing their natural habitat.
Protection of marine flora and fauna: Collecting shells, stones, or other organic materials is prohibited. The only exception is the collection of plastic waste (littering), which we actively remove from the sea.
Reef-friendly sunscreen: To protect the coral and water quality, we ask you to refrain from using conventional sunscreens. Please use only zinc-based, reef-friendly sunscreen.
Smoking ban at diving sites: To avoid the pollution of nature by cigarette butts, smoking is prohibited at the diving sites (beach, Cape Greco National Park).
Avoiding plastic: We support a plastic-free ocean. Please bring your own reusable water bottles if possible. Alternatively, you can borrow or purchase high-quality bottles directly from us at the base.
Consequences of violations: If the environmental rules are disregarded (especially disturbing animals), we reserve the right to exclude the participant from further dives after two warnings without entitlement to a refund.

7. Special conditions: Xenios Apartments

Check-in: From 3:00 PM | Check-out: Until 11:00 AM.
Rules: Smoking and pets are not allowed.
Minimum stay: Three nights.

8. Final Provisions

The laws of the Republic of Cyprus apply. The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of Kistler & Zweifel Diving Ltd.
