We, the Cyprus Diving Centre are a PADI 5 Star IDC ECO Dive Center in the Protaras region. The dive center was originally founded by Richard Stevenson. In 2020, we – Tamara and Daniel – took over the dive center and built it up with our concept: "Where Swiss quality meets Cypriot hospitality." We are now one of the most successful dive centers in Cyprus. What sets us apart above all is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the dive center.

The lounge at Tipsy o' Turtle
In our cozy lounge, located in the garden of the Tipsy o' Turtle pub, we sit down for our briefings, and then after diving, we also enjoy a refreshing drink, chat about the dives, or satisfy our hunger! A relaxed atmosphere is extremely important to us.

2011 - The founding
The Cyprus Diving Centre was founded by Richard Stevenson in the Pernera region. Even then, his main goal was to become a PADI CDC. This is where the abbreviation for Cyprus Diving Centre comes from. CDC is therefore not only the abbreviation for Cyprus Diving Centre , but also represented Richard's ambitious goal of becoming a PADI CDC Center.

2012 - Move to Aphroditis Street
After a year, Richard moved the Cyprus Diving Centre to Aphroditis Street. Initially, it was located in the small shop that is now part of the Hunters Pub.

2016 - Relocation to current shop + PADI 5 Star
The space became too small, and the Cyprus Diving Centre moved for the third time. This time, however, it only moved two shops further to the left. The Cyprus Diving Centre also became a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre and got a new logo!

2020 - Takeover by Daniel and Tamara
Richard had also taken over the pub Tipsy Turtle (now Hipsy o'Turtle) in the meantime. Richard then decided to sell the diving school. Daniel and Tamara were looking for a diving school in Cyprus at the time, and so they took over the Cyprus Diving Centre. This happened at the same time as the start of the Corona pandemic.

2025 - Erster IDC
Im Juli 2025 haben wir unseren ersten PADI IDC Kurs durchgeführt. Da wir noch keinen internen PADI Course Director hatten, wurde dieser IDC mit Chris Heitkemper durchgeführt. Als Kandidaten waren mit dabei: Angela Buschor, Jan Bättig und Joel Keller (wurde ebenfalls vom Fernsehrteam SRF begleitet). Es war ein voller Erfolg und alle drei haben den IDC bestanden!

2025 - SRF DOCUMENTARY
Filming for the SRF documentary "Auf und Davon" (Up and Away) took place in spring 2025. The documentary follows Joel Keller, Daniel's cousin, as he completes his training with us, progressing from beginner to diving instructor. At the same time, it showcases Tamara and Daniel's life here in Cyprus. Click here to watch the documentary!

2026 - Daniel becomes PADI Course Director
In March 2026, Daniel will complete his PADI Course Director training in Kota Kinabalu. This means we will have our own PADI Course Director at the dive center to independently conduct our PADI IDC courses.
