MUSAN SNORKELING

Price

€50.00

Overview

The MUSAN underwater museum off Cyprus consists of 93 statues, which not only look great but also tell a story. However, the museum was not primarily built for us, but for Cyprus’ underwater world. It is intended to create a new artificial reef where more and more life will accumulate over the coming years.

We have already had encounters with sea turtles and even monk seals! A visit is definitely worth it!

What to expect

Welcome

Before the tour begins, we welcome you either at our Dive Center or directly at the beach near MUSAN and give you a short introduction to the trip schedule. You will then receive your snorkeling equipment, and we explain everything important about safety, breathing, and movement in the water.

If snorkeling is new for you, we will guide you step by step on how to use the mask correctly, breathe comfortably, and move efficiently with fins. No previous experience is needed. Our team will stay with you throughout the entire experience to make sure you feel safe and comfortable.

Briefing

Afterwards, you will receive interesting information about the famous MUSAN – the Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa. The underwater museum was created by internationally renowned artist Jason deCaires Taylor and opened in 2021. The sculptures were designed not only as underwater art installations, but also as an artificial reef to encourage new marine life.

During the briefing, we will explain the story behind the sculptures and what you can expect underwater: mysterious figures, submerged trees, and impressive artworks in the middle of the sea. The museum is located at a depth of around 8 to 10 meters, making many of the sculptures clearly visible even while snorkeling from the surface.

Snorkeling

Once in the water, your guide will accompany you directly to the underwater museum. You will have plenty of time to explore the unique sculptures, take photos, and enjoy the special atmosphere beneath the surface. With a little luck, you may also spot different fish species and marine life that now live around the artworks.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced snorkeler, this trip combines adventure, art, and nature into a truly unforgettable Mediterranean experience.

Farewell

After snorkeling, we take some time to chat about the experience. It is always exciting to hear how everyone interprets the statues and their stories. As a memory of your adventure, we will send you the photos from the trip afterwards.
