A snake-like moray eel that hides during the day and hunts at night. It prefers living in rocky crevices and caves, where often only its head protrudes. While breathing, it constantly opens and closes its mouth, which looks threatening to many divers but is completely normal. Moray eels are skilled hunters and feed mainly on fish and crustaceans. Despite their appearance, they very rarely attack humans and usually retreat when there is a current.
