My path to becoming a PADI Instructor: Why “continuing straight on” was the best decision

I completed my IDC at the Cyprus Diving Centre in July 2025 – just two months after finishing my Divemaster course in May. To be honest, I had my doubts at first. I felt I didn't have enough experience yet, and the IDC was approaching so quickly. But as I started studying and taking the course itself, I realized that it was actually a huge advantage to go straight ahead.
My diving theory and practical skills were still fresh in my mind, which helped me immensely. The entire two weeks of the course were incredibly demanding, but equally instructive. It was a fantastic experience that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.
Together with my two partners, Angie and Jan, as well as our Course Director Chris and Staff Instructor Daniel, we formed a great team. Our days were packed with training, but we always made time for fun and a cold beer after work.
All three of us passed the IE (Instructor Examination) with flying colors and can now proudly call ourselves PADI Instructors.
A huge thank you to the entire team at Cyprus Diving Centre for their support during this time – and especially to Chris and Daniel for the outstanding preparation for our IE! It was an unforgettable and incredible time.
