MUSAN UNDERWATER MUSEUM
Something different
Visit the underwater sculptures of Ayia Napa
Since August 1, 2021, the only underwater museum in the eastern Mediterranean has been inviting visitors to dive in. Jason deCaires Taylor designed and submerged a thoughtfully conceived sculpture park. With his socially critical works, the artist conveys messages about the protection of the marine ecosystem. Marine life in the Mediterranean has been threatened for years, and deCaires Taylor aims to portray the sea once again as a place of harmonious coexistence through his exhibition.

The power of nature
change
Over the past few months, we've observed that the underwater world is welcoming the museum. Algae have formed on the artificial trees and kelp sculptures, and small schools of fish have settled there. Crabs and cuttlefish are also being seen more and more frequently.
The sculptures are installed at a depth of 8-10 meters, making them suitable for beginners; however, a diving license is required to protect the museum. The museum can also be explored while snorkeling or freediving.
We reach the museum from the old port of Agia Napa by boat, and the dive takes about 45 minutes.
