Marine conservation in Cyprus - Our projects

We are more than just a dive center. We are actively committed to protecting the oceans and promoting a sustainable diving industry. We implement this through PADI's 3 Pillars of Change. On this page, you can learn more about our efforts and actions to reduce our negative footprint and give back to the ocean as much as possible. Because if the ocean dies, humanity dies too.

OCEAN CONSERVATION

Our direct commitment to marine conservation here in Cyprus includes our Xenios sea turtle project and our regular PADI Dive Against Debris dives.

SUSTAINABLE DIVING

Among other things, this involves training environmentally conscious divers and minimising our negative impact on the environment as much as possible.

Humanity & Humanity

Zur Nachhaltigkeit gehört auch der Mensch. Wir setzen uns für faire Arbeitsbedingungen in der Tauchbranche ein und sind klar gegen Diskriminierung. Unter Wasser sprechen wir alle die selbe Sprache.

PROJECT XENIOS - Sea turtles in Cyprus

The aim of the Xenios project is to establish a database on sea turtles around Cyprus in order to monitor their behaviour and understand the impact of tourism, thereby enabling important conservation measures to be taken.

DIVE AGAINST DEBRIS - Clean Up Diving Against Debris

Every Friday afternoon we go on a clean-up dive, and you can join us.

The collected marine debris is analyzed and recorded in PADI AWARE, the world's largest marine debris database.

GREEN FINS MEMBER - Reduce our impact

We at Cyprus Diving Centre are a Green Fins member. This obliges us to regularly review our sustainability and take measures such as informing guests that they should not apply sunscreen before diving or should only use reef-friendly sunscreen.

SUSTAINABLE TRAINING - You are the next ocean protector

Sustainability and marine conservation are integral to all our PADI courses. We also offer various PADI AWARE courses, such as the PADI Dive Against Debris course. A highlight is our own PADI Mediterranean Sea Turtle Specialty course.
