Your PADI Sidemount Course:

Theory: You can complete the theory portion in advance using PADI eLearning. This allows you to learn the theoretical fundamentals of sidemount diving before you arrive.

Equipment: Sidemount diving uses a new type of dive equipment. The first day is primarily focused on familiarizing yourself with the new gear and adjusting it to fit you perfectly. As an xDeep Dealer, we can also help you customize your very own xDeep sidemount harness to your exact specifications

Dives: The course consists of 4 dives:

-
Dive 1 (Confined Water): This first dive takes place in a pool or a protected, shallow bay. The focus here is on the correct assembly of the equipment, entering the water, and fundamental skills. You will practice putting on and removing the cylinders underwater, as well as things like regulator switching.
-
Dive 2 (Open Water): After getting comfortable in the shallow water, you will proceed to your first open water dive. Here you will learn to perfect your buoyancy and trim with the sidemount equipment and control your movements. The goal is to get a feel for the new underwater weight and balance.
-
Dive 3 (Open Water): In this dive, you will deepen your skills. You will practice managing two cylinders during a dive, including efficient gas switching and proper gas planning. The goal is to make handling the equipment a routine.
-
Dive 4 (Open Water): In the final dive, you will demonstrate the skills you have learned in a simulated environment. This dive is the grand finale, where you can fully concentrate on diving while your equipment fits perfectly and you enjoy the benefits of the new configuration.
