The Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Cyprus is incredibly diverse. While you can find an impressive underwater world in shallow, sandy bays like Green Bay at depths of just 2-3 meters, the seabed drops off quickly to over 30-40 meters in other areas. This variety makes our waters ideal for beginners in training, as well as for advanced divers and wreck enthusiasts.

Yes, there are sharks in the Mediterranean, but they are extremely shy and almost exclusively stay at great depths far from the coast. You won't encounter them on your dives around Protaras, Agyia Napa, or at our well-known dive sites like Zenobia . The only exception is the occasional guitarfish – but even then, sightings are very rare. Sharks pose no danger to divers or swimmers in Cyprus's coastal waters; rather, they are a rare and elusive sight in the open sea.Generally speaking, sharks are not a danger to humans and attacks are extremely rare!
